OVERSEEDING
Overseeding is the process of planting grass seed directly into existing turf creating a thicker, more beautiful lawn. Overseeding is usually performed in the fall as the cooler weather provides a better environment for rapid development with little stress. However, if problems arise from the winter such as snow mold and winter kill, overseeding should be done in the spring to avoid crab grass and other weeds. Furthermore, weed problems (crab grass) are less of a concern in the fall.
